In addition to being a professional photographer, Alex Abdoulaev is a musicologist, composer, arranger, and jazz and classical pianist. Alex is currently a Professor of Music History at West Chester University (West Chester, PA), and has been a featured speaker at multiple national and international conferences. In addition to various academic pursuits, Alex is an active performer in the Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. areas, having performed with such acts as the Butler Parks Hot Serenaders, Mike Slaps the Bass, the Summit Ridge Drive Hot Five, and Squids of Tomorrow.  Alex is a regular academic contributor and guest at the annual MAGFest convention in Washington, D.C. Alex currently resides in Baltimore, Maryland.
